about my
I am Santiago Mues, tango dancer and teacher. My teaching focuses on the social tango danced in the milonga, always prioritizing the fundamental aspects of our dance: the quality of the embrace—both open and closed—and the development of both roles, with respect, awareness, and solid technique.
My training is broad and diverse. After living in Buenos Aires, I had the opportunity to study with numerous masters, absorbing different styles until developing my own approach, especially centered on the well-being of the woman and the fluidity of the connection between partners.
Beyond practical experience, I have completed pedagogical studies through an instructor program, which provided me with complementary tools to convey my knowledge clearly, progressively, and effectively.
In 2025, I am completing my fourth international tour, visiting countries such as the Panama, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Germany, Morocco, and Tunisia, sharing my experience with tango communities around the world.
In Buenos Aires, I am part of the permanent teaching staff at the World Tango School directed by Gabriela Elías, where I teach an average of five group classes per week, as well as private lessons. I also collaborate with closed groups visiting from abroad, guiding them to live a full tango experience, helping them make the most of their stay and accompanying them to the city’s most representative milongas.

Santiago Mues
Dancer, teacher and DJ
Born and raised in the capital of tango, Buenos Aires, I began dancing in 2012. Growing up in this vibrant city gave me the privilege of rapid growth, with endless opportunities for group classes, private lessons, and milongas — an incredible experience for anyone driven by passion.
My connection to movement comes from sports. I played professional five-a-side and field football, and also spent years practicing basketball, tennis, handball, martial arts, and swimming. This athletic background shaped my awareness of the body and movement long before I discovered tango.
Later in life, my corporate career took me through commercial roles and, for the past decade, into human resources — mainly in talent acquisition. Along the way, I found a way to connect all these experiences through our beautiful dance. Today, I see tango as a tool for personal evolution, a meditative practice in motion, and a form of healing through the embrace.
